Day 304 of Project 2015

Happy Halloween!

David had cricket in the morning and he opened the batting. He did well so much so that he may have secured a regular opening partnership with the captain.

Meanwhile Le was at the shop, preparing for the first workshop. This one for kids and creating computer animation. The kids seemed to enjoy it.

Can’t remember if we mentioned it earlier, but we bought arcade sticks a couple of months back and this afternoon we spent some time button mashing while playing fighting games. Arms and fingers are very sore now! Hahaha!

Tonight, Le was surprised with tickets to Matilda The Musical for her birthday from her sisters and our niece and nephews. Very very awesome 🙂 We were looking forward to watching it so this was a wonderful surprise!

The Rugby World Cup Final is tomorrow morning. So we are getting up at 3 am to watch it. Early night tonight for us. Off to bed now… before 9pm.

Eating two ice cream cakes.

Brighter/Different Perspective?

Le’s not one for surprises… but surprises like the one tonight aren’t so bad 🙂

Day 303 of Project 2015

The end of another month is almost upon us. Almost 10 months down and two to go 🙂 Tomorrow marks Halloween… wonder what ghouls and ghosts are out there.

David’s shaved his head a few days, in time for but by chance with Bandana Day. It has raised a lot of questions from everyone why he chose to go so short. The thing is.. he used to always shave his head like that but because it was ages ago, it seems unusual now.

It’s funny how people think there has to be a “reason” why we do some things we do… and most of the time… There really is no reason at all other than because we want to 🙂 Is there anything really wrong with that? Nope, because that is what life should be. Doing what we want to… not because there is some “reason” behind it.

Summary for October 30

Newbies

David came home early. Fridays are usually his “late” days but he was home by 5.30pm.

Brighter/Different Perspective?

If you do what you want to in life, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. That is a good enough reason as any 🙂

Day 302 of Project 2015

David came by the shop after work and ended up staying to do some of his work that he had brought home. It’s actually a good way for us NOT to bring work to our home. We have another spot to do it and when we come home, we are there to be at home! Can’t let the worlds of work and leisure collide – we’ve made that agreement already!

In the evening, we got some creative juices going and created a brontosaurus from Lego. Lego is a lot of fun! We would love to be able to just play and build all day long if we could. It’s no wonder kids love it so much.

Summary for October 29

Newbies

Both working in the shop this afternoon so our dream of working together kind of became a reality.

Brighter/Different Perspective?

Work is work but if we are happy doing what we are doing… it’s not so bad!

Day 301 of Project 2015

We woke up this morning to a fantastic email proposal. Through our travel blog, we got contacted by a media agency in NYC who wanted to know if we might be interested in being part of a reality TV show, a couple travelling across the USA on a budget. This has distracted us a little from our plans to book the next trip. What if?? What if??

Anyway….David managed to get free tickets to see the documentary “He Named Me Malala” in the evening. It was a lovely documentary but slightly confronting.

It was a stark reminder at how much we do take things in our lives for granted. Something basic as being able to go to school, being able to speak freely, being able to not hear gunfire of a night time, not having to witness bloodshed.

We think about our lives growing up and exactly the same time millions of other children around the world, our age… who were not so fortunate! And even to this day, there is so much heartache, pain and violence… unjustly so.

Summary for October 28

Newbies

“School” nights are usually quiet for us… although we have tried to vary it up a little. So going out on the train for a night out was a real treat. We ended up eating at a Hong Kong restaurant.. wondering if that was a teaser for what’s to come if we decide to book our flights to Hong Kong??

Brighter/Different Perspective?

We are so grateful and feel so blessed to lead the peaceful and fortunate lives that we do. We simply cannot forget what goes on around the world especially if we are ever feeling hard done by!

Day 300 of Project 2015

Into the last part of the year… 65 days or so to go!

And we’ve been busy…. busy busy!! Tonight we ducked out to IKEA for a late minute spell to do some shopping … we need a shelf for the new office…

Slowly tidying up and getting the finishing touches… aesthetically done! Now it’s more the practical side of things. To get the show on the road and functioning.

We’ve been thinking about next trip a LOT lately. We have been thinking about going to Hong Kong. But then we want to go to see the Northern Lights before they go to sleep again for the next decade or so…. What to do? What to do?

Summary for October 27

Newbies

Wish we could say, it was a random, just-before-closing shop at IKEA but, nope we’ve done that before. Our routines are now so varied that feels like we’ve done everything on a “day-to-day” basis before.

Brighter/Different Perspective?

Bright ideas certainly do come about when we least expect it. As do discoveries…. relaxing the mind and just having fun really does open up so many opportunities!Â
