Day 24 of Project 2015

A jam-packed day today…. and tsk tsk… it still isn’t even February yet. We are certainly making the most of every day.

We went into town and went to the Hyde Park Barracks and instead of just buying the one entry ticket, we chose to buy the museum pass that gives us access to now another three museums as well. The ticket is normally valid for 3 months, however we were pleasantly surprised when we purchased our tickets today that we had up to a year to use it.

What a bonus… it seems each day, we are getting a little bit of a surprise 🙂 Being positive is so easy so why doesn’t everyone just take that attitude on board?

Summary of January 24

We went to Hyde Park Barracks today and learnt a great deal about Australian convict history that we were not aware of and to learn that it was part of the 10 Australian convict sites listed on the UNESCO Heritage Listing was an additional bonus for us 🙂

Brighter/Different Perspective?

We caught the train today and were on our way to Newtown and instead of catching an all stations, we caught an express train that went right past our desired stop. Hahaha! We’ve been here before – we did this just before we went to Brazil last year except when we jumped on the train to head back in the opposite direction, we ended up again jumping on an express train. So to get it wrong only once today was the “brighter side”.

I’ve never been to Hyde Park Barracks despite living in Sydney until I was 30! I’ll have to go next time I am down. Thanks for the reminder 🙂
